A Stimulating Addition
Medi-Stim, Inc. offers a new line of conductive garments for use with electrotherapy stimulation.
The product line includes gloves, socks, sleeves, electrodes, the Medi-Stim thoracic vest and low back braces.
These garments are reportedly ideal for stimulating areas that are hard or impossible to treat with normal electrodes, according to Medi-Stim. The company adds that the conductive garments are also useful aids when clinicians are treating patients who are sensitive to pre-gelled electrodes.
The company points out that the garments are made with silver, Dacron or nylon threads. Clinicians can use them with TENS, NMES, high-volt, interferential and microcurrent stimulators to more effectively treat chronic and arthritic pain, carpal tunnel, edema and neuropathies, according to Medi-Stim.
The company claims the garments are also reimbursed by most insurers.

Knee Brace Line Offers Key Benefits
To accommodate individual patient needs, VQ Orthocare’s new line of Catalyst knee braces are designed to improve the overall brace experience.
Available in three configurations, the braces offer design innovation that facilitates accomadation of individual anatomies, according to VQ Orthocare. The company says the braces provide improved fit, range of motion, suspension and comfort.
In field surveys of the product, most patients were able to bend their leg into a deep flexion or full squatting position without pinching, pain or brace resistance, according to the product manufacturer.
VQ Orthocare says the Catalyst brace includes an auto-conform aluminum thigh shell that provides the increased stability and custom fit required for contact sports.

New Gel Relieves Deep Muscle Pain
Practitioners looking for a greaseless pain reliever for deep muscle pain can now turn to a newly introduced gel.
The menthol-based pain reliever offers fast, temporary relief of minor aches and pains caused by arthritis, sports injuries and assorted aching, according to Geritrex, the manufacturer of the gel.
Geritrex says the gel penetrates deep into muscle joints, providing relief that, in most cases, lasts for hours.
Unlike other pain relievers that may be pungent or greasy, Mineral Freez Gel offers a pleasant fragrance and greaseless consistency, according to the company.
